"French Winter" Photography Contest

The Embassy of France is now accepting submissions in its first-ever photography contest.

The theme? "French Winter."

Send us your best winter photo—with a French touch. Even if you’re not in France, try to find something around you that reminds you of France. Show us the beauty of the U.S. landscape and of French-American friendship. Be creative!

Details and instructions

 The 10 best photos will be printed and displayed as part of a temporary exhibition at the Embassy of France.
 The "Best Photo" will be featured temporarily as the "cover" of the Embassy of France Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/FranceInTheUs
 The winners of the other categories will each receive a "grab bag" with a variety of France-related goodies from the Embassy of France.
 All photos should be sent to info@ambafrance-us.org. All photos must be sent in .jpg or .jpeg form.
 Address all contest-related emails with the following subject line: French Embassy Photography Award – First name – Last Name Please include the date and place of the photo taken. Include full postal address in email. Other commentary may be included but should not exceed two (2) lines.
 The contest is open to all amateur photographers living in the United States or in France.
 Submissions are limited to two (2) photos per participant.
 Participants must hold the rights to the photo(s) submitted and obtain permission of any and all persons who appear in the photo.
 In entering the "French Winter" photo contest, participants give to the Embassy of France the authorization to use and reproduce their photos.
 No explicit or inappropriate content.
 No commercial content.

Submissions will be accepted through January 19, 2013.

Winners will be announced and contacted beginning January 23, 2013.
