The Embassy’s Press and Communication Office has three missions:
To inform the U.S. public about France and its policies. The Press Counselor, who also serves as the Embassy’s spokesperson, continuously communicates official French positions to the American media. The Press Office also answers Americans’ questions about France (each year, it replies to some 20,000 requests for information, submitted by e-mail, telephone, fax or mail). The Press and Communication Service also publishes an English-language newsletter, the monthly News From France, and provides support for the French-American Cultural Foundation’s prestigious quarterly, France Magazine, devoted to the best of French culture, travel and art de vivre. Finally, the Press Service edits and administers this website.
To monitor media coverage by the American press, radio and television networks, websites, blogs and think tanks in order to keep the French authorities informed contiuously how the news is reported, particularly as it pertains to France.
To organize events for the public or the U.S. press during high-level visits.
